About Sonoma Aviation

Sonoma Aviation is the vision of Josh and Julia Hochberg. In 2002, while working respectively as executives at United Airlines and Motorola Solutions, the Hochbergs decided to found a new aviation company. This enterprise would be one in which employees would come together as a team in a fulfilling environment to serve others.

Where it began...

By 2010, the couple’s vision came to fruition with the launch of their first owned-and-operated FBO, Sonoma Jet Center in Santa Rosa, California. In 2019, the Hochbergs added a second FBO, Carlsbad Jet Center in Carlsbad, California, which they manage on behalf of the multi-billion dollar Southern California Laborers Pension Trust.

We care about enhancing lives

Unlike the majority of sizable FBO Operators—including Signature Flight Support and Atlantic Aviation—the Hochbergs’ companies have remained under the same private ownership, and with the same values since 2010.

Amidst industry turmoil, trading and consolidation, the Hochbergs have methodically improved their FBOs while expanding their teams and establishing additional capabilities. For the Hochbergs, the FBO business isn’t about adding dots on a map or establishing leverage to force aircraft operators to pay more for services. Instead, Julia and Josh care about enhancing peoples’ lives: clients, team members, aviators, and local communities.
